Vintage Valentine Card - Deconstructed Sketch No. 36

I was looking for another challenge to do today and found a great website called the deconstructed sketch. The challenge was to make a card using the sketch below. I knew I wanted to make a vintage-looking card and use my favorite paper collection "Modern Homemaker" from October Afternoon. I made the button flower from a 1 1/2" Gluber, ribbon from my Grandma Hildie's collection, and a button I had one from a Crop Party. The yellow cardstock was embossed using the Swiss Dots Embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I also used a generic frame svg file I have to make the blue base for the "recipe" paper. I plan on giving this card (and a big smooch) to my hubby on Valentine's Day!

"You Light Up My Life" Card using "Sweet Talk Postage Stamps" Cardstock from K&Company

I needed to get some crafting time in today and here comes Emma from "My Creative Time" to the rescue with a Throwback Challenge for today. The challenge was to create any type of Valentine's Day card using your favorite Cricut cartridge. Although I did not pull out my Cricut for this card, I definitely got in my "me" time!!! To check out some other creations for the Throwback Challenge visit Emma's site --- you won't be disappointed.

I used a "postage stamp" from the Brenda Walton collection for K&Company - Sweet Talks cardstock. I also used the "Bless" paper out of the Euphoria collection from Basic Grey. The music notes at the bottom were stamped in some pink Cat's Eye pigment ink and then embossed with some sparkly star dust powder. I do not remember what brand the music note clear stamp is from but do know I got it from Hobby Lobby and it comes in a set of 5 backgrounds. It stamped really well!

The ribbon was re-purposed from a stack of washcloths - it was tying them all together. How eco-friendly am I???

Baby and Kid Waterfall Cards

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!!!

Thought I would share some waterfall cards I made using the Waterfall Cards SVG Kit from svgcuts.com along with the Cricut and Sure Cuts a Lot 2. I stuck mainly with the svgcuts design but did add some Stickles to the baby card. The sentiment inside the alligator card is from the "It's Your Birthday" stamp set from Stampin' Up. These were very fun to make and probably even more fun for my friends & family to receive!

Baby Card

Alligator Kids Card

I used both the Swiss Dots embossing folder and Woodgrain folder for the alligator.

Butterfly Card using "Oh Hello Flutter" SVG set from Lettering Delights

This is a great butterfly card that can be used for any occasion! The striped paper is from a great 12 x 12 pad that Amy Butler made for K&Company called "Lotus". The orange and blue patterned papers are out of the "Joy Ride" 6x6 stack from Cosmo Cricket. I added some silver twine from my Grandma Hildie's collection and pop-dotted the butterfly after adding some jewels to her (yes, the butterfly is a "her"!)

The butterfly was cut using the "Oh Hello Flutter" svg set from Lettering Delights. I then embossed it with the D'Vine Swirl folder from Cuttlebug and also sprayed it with the Perfect Pearls Shimmer Mist from Ranger.

Holiday Card

I made this Holiday card using the "Christmas Borders" cling stamp set from Recollections found at Michaels and the "Merry Christmas" Collection from Echo Park for the patterned paper. I loved both the stamp set and paper and used them both all Christmas long! The stamp was used with white embossing powder onto craft paper. I also embossed the top of the card with a damask embossing folder from Hobby Lobby. It's hard to tell but the card actually folds down with the ribbon holding it closed. I white-line dashed the border for a finished look.

Anniversary Card using "Fine and Dandy" True Blue paper pack from My Mind's Eye

I made this card for my in-law's anniversary. It's hard to tell but the blue paper is textured in stripes. I used the "Fine and Dandy" True Blue 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye for the the punched circles and layers under the sentiment. I punched the circles using a 7/8" circle punch. I then folded them in half and glued them between the yellow twine from the Lime Twist line of My Mind's Eye. The inspiration for this card was from maryrose on Splitcoaststampers.
